What We're Building
Updated: September 2026 | Prepared by A.N.G.E.L. — v1.6 (Canada Phase 1)
T.A.E.I.L. is a global community platform being built around death, grief, remembrance, preparation, celebration, and mutual care. It is a connected care system: a place to preserve memory, prepare for mortality, reduce chaos after death, stay connected across distance, and help fewer people face loss or isolation alone.
Three pillars
- Living, self-reflection, and legacy — honour the dead, celebrate personal milestones, reflect honestly on life's journey, and carry love and memory forward with dignity.
- Preparation and practical care — reduce confusion, logistical trauma, and painful guesswork before and after death through structured guidance and advance care planning.
- Community, mutual support, and mentorship — help trusted people stay connected, offer care without surveillance, and learn with compassion from the wisdom of those who came before.
Launch-facing features
Every member may set up a Sanctuary, a Memorial, or both. A Sanctuary belongs to a living member; a Memorial honours someone who has passed away — created directly after a loss, or carried forward from a member's own Sanctuary when death is confirmed. When a Sanctuary becomes a Memorial, the member's designated caretaker may help shape the space within the permissions the member set in advance, and may be invited to begin a Sanctuary of their own.
Sanctuary — A Living Compass
A private personal space built by the living, for the living. A quiet retreat to reflect on life's journey, look inward, celebrate personal achievements, clarify core values, and consciously plan future life paths.
Memorial — Remembrance & Mentorship
A lasting space honouring someone who has passed away, designed to support the living. Alongside treasured memories, it offers descendants, children, and friends a thoughtful place to reflect on a loved one's whole life with honesty and compassion: their achievements, virtues, resilience, struggles, mistakes, and shortcomings.
Message from the Afterlife
Future-delivered video, audio, written, or photo messages scheduled for meaningful future milestones, subject to robust release, verification, consent, and permission controls.
Cherished Moments
Attach recurring annual celebrations to precious memories so that joy is actively relived every year, rather than faded by time or overshadowed by grief.
The Passing Notification Network
Member-defined, carefully verified notification journeys with prepared messages, recipient permissions, and gentle practical instructions when death is confirmed.
When the Time Comes
Plain-language guidance and advance preparation for contacts, wishes, documents, digital-account information, and a Point Person, relieving newly bereaved families of traumatic guesswork.
Wider ecosystem & Community Layer
The wider ecosystem includes an authenticated community layer on taeilcommunity.org alongside sensitive personal spaces on taeil.life:
- Shared Reflections: A planned reflective community space where verified adult Users and Members can share life lessons, lived experiences, humane questions, and reflections for the living. Learn more on our Shared Reflections feature overview.
- Circle of Care: Intended to support trusted direct messages, group chats, and mutual-care circles with optional check-in rhythms. It must remain care and friendship, not coercive monitoring or emergency intervention.
- Garage Sale: A peer-to-peer used-item listing area for verified community participants, operating without platform-held funds, escrow, or shipping at launch.
- Additional Areas: Beliefs & Traditions Library, Member Stories, Resources Directory, The Cleanse, and The Members' Voice.
The Members' Voice
The Members' Voice is T.A.E.I.L.'s planned feedback system. Members will be invited to share needs, concerns, ideas, and experiences, and leadership will take that feedback seriously when shaping the platform.
Feedback does not create voting rights, governance control, ownership, payment-tier influence, or a guarantee that a particular proposal will be adopted. During the founder-led pre-launch phase, final operational and product decisions rest with the Founder/CEO. After incorporation, formal governance decisions will be made in accordance with T.A.E.I.L.'s governing documents and trustee responsibilities.
A.N.G.E.L. — approved future scope
A.N.G.E.L. means Afterlife Navigation, Grief Empowerment & Legacy. It is intended as a support aid, not a destination: it must encourage members toward genuine human community rather than substitute for it.
A.N.G.E.L. is not a legal guardian, therapist, clinical service, crisis line, emergency monitor, or substitute for human care. Its first bounded phase is intended to provide onboarding, platform-help guidance, guided Sanctuary/Memorial setup, and simple member-created reminders after funding and the required gates are in place.
A.N.G.E.L. is not part of the current minimum-launch or stretch scope. Later phases require independent safeguarding and product-risk review, privacy impact assessment, counsel review, consent and retention design, security testing, crisis signposting, and documented human handoffs.
Safeguarding comes first
T.A.E.I.L. will not open to Members, Users, or any authenticated community feature until required safeguards, moderation, escalation, verification, consent, and technical controls are in place.
High-risk areas include identity and privacy, welfare checks, death confirmation, future-message release, notifications, minors, moderation, jurisdiction-specific preparation content, Point Person delegation, membership anonymity, and deletion promises. They require defined operating rules and specialist review before launch.
The Cleanse is intended as a private ritual-release tool with permanent deletion, not a community-sharing or engagement feature.
Current status
T.A.E.I.L. is in a pre-registration, pre-incorporation, pre-launch build phase. It intends to incorporate as a Canadian federal non-profit before campaign launch or contribution acceptance.
No campaign or Founding Membership offer is currently live. Campaign, membership, platform, payment-processing, eligibility, pricing, benefits, refund, fee, funds-flow, tax, and target details remain subject to incorporation, organisation banking, payment-processor verification, platform configuration, and Canadian legal review.
